Technical Writer, Chrome Developer Tools
Location: Munich 🇩🇪
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Relevant experience in technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing. Experience with writing technical customer-facing materials. Preferred qualifications: Experience building for the web and working with developer tools. Proficiency with HTML and CSS; proficiency in a UNIX environment. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.
Google, more than any other company, needs high-quality experiences and content on the web. Yet web developers are struggling to deliver high-quality experiences. Chrome's developer tooling team has ambitious ideas to build tooling experiences for web developers that helps them deliver high-quality experiences while also driving their own business needs.
Participate in early design discussions and update content plans as the project evolves. Deliver high-quality documentation that guides web developers through creating high-quality websites with the new suite of developer tools. Create general web development best practice guidance. Work closely with product managers and software engineers to identify deliverables and develop plans for creating those deliverables.
